New Music Review & Preview Oct.-Dec. 10′

So I have fallen behind in my music reviews as well as letting you guys know what is coming up. So I just decided to kill two birds with one proverbial stone in this blog post.

As far as new music I have been listening to lately, it consists mostly of 3 new albums. Punk Goes Pop Volume 3, Senses Fail – The Fire, and Bassnectar’s Wildstyle.

Punk Goes Pop continues the string of awesomeness we have come to expect from the Punk Goes ___ series. This volume gives us 14 more tracks of fun variations on some of the “hot” songs out right now. Some of my favorites include: “Airplanes” by The Ready Set, “Run This Town” by Miss May I, and “My Love” by We Came As Romans. This album provides a good amount of diversity as well so if you are looking for some slower emo type songs or some harder screamo rock ballads this album has a little bit for everyone.

Senses Fail’s new album The Fire, came out October 25th. Now I will be the first to admit that I am not the biggest Senses Fail fan; however, this album has given me some new material so I could reconsider my previous stance. As I moved through the album it really seemed as if every song was better than the one before it, and listening to the album all the way through and letting it just restart feels almost organic.

Lastly, Bassnectar’s Wildstyle, gives faithful Bassnectar listeners a quick EP type idea of what kind of sound they will most likely be moving toward for their next full length album. I do enjoy this album, however, it is definitely not their best but I look forward to where they might go with this type of sound.
