Walk off the Earth – Stubb’s Austin – June 2nd!

So you may remember my post from a few months back talking about the incredible cover of Somebody That I Used to Know that a band called Walk off the Earth covered. Well if you have been itching to see them ever since like I have and you are going to be in the Austin, Texas area tomorrow evening you should go out around 7:00-ish and see them play at Stubb’s. Info HERE!

I have personally never seen these guys but they look like they would be a lot of fun to see live and definitely worth the super cheap ticket price of $15. Video below if you need a refresher.

Mother Falcon – SXSW Showtimes, Just to See Her Smile (Official Video)

A few months ago, one of IVDUB‘s founding fathers was inducted into a fantastic local Austin band called Mother Falcon.

Andrew Fontenot is my good friend and has been traveling the country with them for some time now helping them grow as a group with his magical saxophone skills.

Mother Falcon is playing more than a few shows during the 10 days which is SXSW (South By Southwest), so no excuses for not being able to see them! And for all of you who haven’t had the privilege of seeing them, take this opportunity to get out and allow them to change your life!

Mother Falcon

You will find their newest music video – Just to See Her Smile – as well as their show-times during SXSW 2012 after the break. Continue reading Mother Falcon – SXSW Showtimes, Just to See Her Smile (Official Video)

Nicolas Cage on Nicolas Cage in SNL’s latest Weekend Update Skit

I have my friends over at GotchaMovies to thank for writing up a brief article on Nicolas Cage poking fun at himself with Andy Samburg on Saturday Night Live this last weekend.

If you haven’t read my previous praises for Nic Cage you should read my bad movie review on Drive Angry.

You can check out Nicolas Cage next in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, in theaters 2/17/12.

A IVDUB Christmas – August Burns Red Style

We have all seen plenty of those videos of people decking out their homes with lights and choreographed shows to Trans Siberian Orchestra songs or something similar. They have been on the news and we have all marveled at the sheer amount of time it must take to make something like that a reality.

And that is great! Good for all of you stay at home Dad’s and your exceptional Christmas lighting skills!

However, this year, I wanted to find someone who did things a little differently. The Roderique family put up their lights and decided to center their theme around August Burns Red’s cover of “Carol Of The Bells”.

And it is absolutely genius!

So grab a cup of hot coco and come watch this video during a commercial break of A Christmas Story. You know you all are watching it for your 4th time already.

Much love and Happy Holidays to all of you IVDUB Blog readers!

How to pull off “The Rally”

Let’s begin by defining exactly what a “Rally” is: ral-ly v. – 3.To rouse or revive from inactivity or decline

Urban Dictionary: Clawing your way out of the depths of drunken hell and rejoining the party in full-on pimp style.

Now my “Rally” consisted of a bit of both of these definitions, it goes as follows.

This last Thursday I was faced with a difficult decision. Should I go to SA for fall break or not?

Now let’s look at the circumstances surrounding my decisions: I have an 8 page paper due Friday before I can leave, which I have barely started. We are faced with a 6 hour drive through no man’s land and sleep is not an option, lastly, I know that once we are in San Antonio I must go out and continue to be social into the wee hours of the morning.

So what did I do?

Like any man I saddled up and went for it. But how does one accomplish so much? Well there are several guidelines which I will outline in the following paragraphs.
