The Make Believe is an up and coming band based out of New Zealand. They popped up on my radar a few months back with their incredible cover of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful“. Admit it, you’ve caught yourself singing along to it when it comes on the radio! This video, of front men Tyler Vivian and Mike Lake, sitting on a futon on a Wednesday afternoon or something propelled them into the spotlight and helped them get a record deal within a few weeks of this video going viral.
Since then The Make Believe has released a single, “Give It A Million” and are currently in the works on a full length studio album. So get your boy-band-pants on and get ready to feel so satisfied and yet oh so guilty about their pop-punkiness in all it’s glory.

This is one of the best demo video’s I have seen in quite a while. I have heard nothing about this game until today but it looks like it is going to kill it! It’s been too long since we have seen something truly original in the video game marketplace and with a year chocked full of sequels of sequels of your uncles-brothers-sequel Watch Dogs looks refreshing as shit!
Marketing for our generation has been rough, we have grown up in an age bombarded by marketing attempts at
every turn. Some find traction and take off; other fail miserable and we look back a year later and laugh at how ridiculous it was.
Viral videos have found traction and are now being exploited everyday so products and services can build up identity “overnight” by being associated with this famous person or that asinine clip.
Lately a shift has been taking place where we are demolishing the “third wall” and are blatantly screaming at the audience about how stupid they are for believing in viral marketing or rewritten screenplays for a quick laugh and a quick buck in today’s marketplace. The even crazier thing is it’s working! This viral ad along with studio films such as “21 Jump Street” are carving a new path where we are pointing out the obvious to the audience and then reinforcing the point to make them believe they truly aren’t being tricked. Genius.
This video blew me away as it encompassed all of the major interests in my life. Automobiles, Technology, Marketing, and Future Green Tech.
This is a great marketing ploy by Mercedes to get people interested in Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology, personally what I believe to be our next huge leap forward as far as renewable transportation technology. Now if only we can get the automotive and oil companies to release their death grip on the rights to this technology that will spell the end of the big oil company control of this planet. <endofsoapbox>
A few months ago, one of IVDUB‘s founding fathers was inducted into a fantastic local Austin band called Mother Falcon.
Andrew Fontenot is my good friend and has been traveling the country with them for some time now helping them grow as a group with his magical saxophone skills.
Mother Falcon is playing more than a few shows during the 10 days which is SXSW (South By Southwest), so no excuses for not being able to see them! And for all of you who haven’t had the privilege of seeing them, take this opportunity to get out and allow them to change your life!
You will find their newest music video – Just to See Her Smile – as well as their show-times during SXSW 2012 after the break. Continue reading Mother Falcon – SXSW Showtimes, Just to See Her Smile (Official Video)
So a few weeks ago I decided to do something I have always wanted to do, learn how to ride a motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle has always been something that was so enticing to me, however my father had done a great job of scaring me almost to the point of no return about ever getting on one. Since I was about 10 years old all I heard were the old horror stories of him and his buddies riding dirt-bikes then BAM! Broken neck. BAM! Broken soul. BAM! Crushed dreams… and so on and so forth. However this would be one battle he would not win.
I did some research and discovered that Austin Moto Academy Continue reading Amazing Motorcycle Learning Experience – Austin Moto Academy
